can anyone tell me what rear gear from this or any other details..much appreciated

1996 is the truck
there is a black strap bolted to the rearend housing
1st line: 52070214 1S, 2nd line: 3 54 605787-2

DSA denotes limited slip.

I don't see the designation for 3.55, or 4.10 gears...... Don't know what the code for 3.92's was..... Half ton truck, right? (should put that info in your sig, and profile.)

In the FAQ/DIY section, there is a thread about getting a build sheet for your truck. It will tell you EVERYTHING that was on it from the factory, including gear ratio. There should also be a tag on one of the rear diff cover bolts, that has gear ratio on it. (of course, those are notorious for getting 'lost' when someone changes the fluid.....)

Ill send the info to that section, I did find a tag but only stated "limited slip oil" thank you for the info though

Pretty sure that 3.54 is for 3.55 gears.

I entered my VIN in the decoder and you are correct..also answer my question about taller tires
