Can anyone on here compare the Superchips tune to the one from hemifever? I've already searched the forum and can't find anything solid. I currently run 91 super chips and I am not impressed at all. I would like to know if the 93 tune from hemifever has a significant advantage over the 91 Superchips tune. Rather not spend $395 for another tuner if it won't blow SC away. Anyone have any comparison of the two?

Dodge Ram 1500
5.2l V8
50mm ported TB
CAI
Single in/dual out flowmaster
35s
3.55 gear ratio

Thanks.

I wouldn`t be so quick to blame the superchip that you have now. You have created part of the problem with the 35`s and the 3.55 gears. Way to much tire for the 3.55 gears. Changing your gearing to 4.10 or 4.56 gears will make a huge difference in your performance.

I realize that. However before i went with 35s and had the stock tire size I didn't notice much with the SC.

superchips is canned tunes only. and SCT they are somewhat tuned to your truck even at the canned level.

also, these arent deisel engines. a tuner does not 50 hp make. Best thing about SCT is it removes torque management so no overdrive at 30mph. I automatically cut od off until on highway.

if you want a drastic difference from one single upgrade. go gears. it will help you put the power to the ground.

sell you "CAI" and put the stock intake on i bet you notice a difference lol

I have had superchips in the past, never was really impressed with it. Most every one here swears by Hemifever and his tunes. If you do a gear swap and a Hemifever tune you should notice a nice power gain.

I'm not new to this. I know tuners don't make anywhere near 50hp. I'm just simply asking if there is a drastic difference over super chips or if the elimination of TM is worth it alone.

Drastic. No.

Worth it for torque management? Cant say because i dont have one. One can work the O/D button for free and get the same result on saving the trans lifespan.

I would spend the 400 on other things. tuner is not high on my list.

Save your money, you won't notice anything different with SCT even with the 93 tune. If you have torque management on your model you'll gain 20 lb ft of tq switching to SCT but you won't notice it at all cause that's at 4000 rpm. Not worth the money unless you need a custom tune for a cam or injectors.
