^^ This ^^

I have been told by more than one person over the years, that when high pressure lines get old they can swell up on the inside blocking or restricting the fluid flow. So if the high pressure power steering hose is original, you might consider replacing it.

could be worth a check for sure. Similar to when brake hoses swell up and fail and you replace a caliper and you're like "wat?" when that doesn't work

Well, even the pros don't know what's up with it... Took it to a reputable shop that fixed my friends power steering issue and they told me they have no idea and there's nothing they can do...
Did they hook up a meter to see what kind of pressure you are getting? If not that's what needs to be done. It wouldn't hurt to replace the pressure line.

The one thing i find odd is there no play or slack from the wheel to the box. My brand new borgeson box had a little. Just a guess, but if you really have no slack, your sector shaft could be binding.

Honestly, don't know what exactly they did. As in high pressure line, yes, it has been replaced. All return lines replaced. 2 pumps, and 1 gear box. As in binding of selector shaft, do you mean the universal joints in the shaft? I've swapped probably 3 different shafts and when I had them out I check for play and the U joints were very nice and no play, that is if that's what you meant...

I found a "fix" in an old thread on another forum, that involved disassembling the flow control valve, and removing a shim, to boost pressure a bit...... that worked for some folks with the same issue...... wonder if that would work in your case as well? (if you like, I can try to find the thread again, when I get home from work.)

This is much the same and suggests removing that shim first if there but goes on to another mod to increase pressure even more if needed .

Good article. That pretty much sums it up, and even has pictures.
