Got pics of what you have done thus far.

Pics of what? The cluster and ecm? Its pretty much done the dash bezel is off because I need to put the gear selector back in the cluster. Then its done. If you swap the older style trans swap the ecm and cluster with it and it should work. Thats what I did. The cluster I used wasn't from the 98 truck that the trans came from it was junked. I used the 99 one we had from another truck. We did try a early 2000 cluster but it had the same no bus code as the 01 cluster. The odometer is reading the mileage from the 99 cluster and not the 98 ecm which I thought was wierd. I swapped the 2000 ecu and cluster in and it didn't have the no bus but it would go into od. I think the ecu is the key to the trans shifting right. And the cluster has to match the ecu and trans as in like the early style 98-99 because the 2000 we had was a 12/99 build date and according to everyone it should have been the right ecu cluster combo for the trans I have. The 00 cluster is the same as my 01 but the 99 cluster is different the bottom of it has several bulbs in it where the 00 and 01 only have one.

You are CORRECT, the plug for the governor pressure sensor is different. It has the same wires for sensor. The 4th generation sensor reads differently then the previous generations.

So to make an older 46re transmission to work in late 2000 and up truck you need to change the wiring harness to get that 4th gen sensor working properly. OR change the pcm and apparently cluster so they can read the older sensors

Sorry about about the misinformation

I'm not to sure on why it would. I don't think there is anything saved on the cluster it's just a display isn't? I'm wondering if the vehicle would start and run with out one.

I also noticed the bellhousings were slightly different. access plates are different, shaped differently as well. I ended up making a plate to cover the access hole

Really? I know it's a pain to get it in there but the plate fit for me
