Blew transfer case to pieces
Need help recently hit a fence in my truck (being a dumb ***) going to school the pole hit my front drive shaft and completely blew my transfer case to pieces the truck drove to my work and has been sitting i need help on finding a good cheap used transfer case if anyone could help me id appreciate it my truck is a 1996 dodge 2500 5.9 360 my transfer case is a 241 DLD 5210 5369 serial number is 725 and gear ration is 272 thank you guys!
2 yards have my t case but they want 650 for a used one with 212,000 on it the other yard wants more i would just rather pay the 800 for a new one i was hoping to get one cheaper. everyone wants top dollar for these things there must be gold inside of it
You would think so.
There weren't quite as common as the 231's..... You could also look for a 241DHD out of a V-8 engined 3/4 or 1 ton. The V-10, and diesel versions have different input shafts I think.

A 231 will bolt right up to your truck.
So a t case from an auto 1500 will work
That will expand your options if getting back on the road ASAP is the priority
Assuming you have an auto
Since you have a 96 your years are limited to 94-97ish because sometime then they switched the Speedo to the rear axle.

I did a random zip in PA and came up with quite a few hits. The yards' phone #s are in the listings. Should give you some good leads to call on but pay close attention to the descriptions.
