Craigslist, EBay, local wrecking yards, newspaper ads. Best you can do. Can also look for whole trucks that people are parting out. T-cases tend to go quickly though....

You would think so. There weren't quite as common as the 231's..... You could also look for a 241DHD out of a V-8 engined 3/4 or 1 ton. The V-10, and diesel versions have different input shafts I think.

A 231 will bolt right up to your truck.

So a t case from an auto 1500 will work

That will expand your options if getting back on the road ASAP is the priority

Assuming you have an auto

Since you have a 96 your years are limited to 94-97ish because sometime then they switched the Speedo to the rear axle.

Try http://www.car-part.com

I did a random zip in PA and came up with quite a few hits. The yards' phone #s are in the listings. Should give you some good leads to call on but pay close attention to the descriptions.

The code on my 1996, dodge, 2500, cummins diesel, automatic, regular cab, 4x4, has a bad transfer case. I live near Tacoma wa. The t case # is 241 DLD 5210 5369. Like mentioned above regarding the A231
Is there another t case that will work for mine? If so which code would our be?
