Default Truck choking out at idle

I know I've asked before but I still can't figure this out. At idle my truck starts to choke out and al out die unless I tap the gas. I put a new iac in and just replaced it again to see if it was just a bad iac but it still continues to do this. Any ideas? Thanks

Did you reset the pcm by disconnecting the battery and cutting the headlights on to drain all residual power after instaklling the new one?

One brand iac did you use?

I did the hold the button on the dash and let it do the cycle it does to reset. Not sure what it's called. It's a duralast from autozone. Supposed to be good but who knows. I brought back the old one before my yr was up on the warranty to try that but no luck

Mine was doing this after my rebuild, initially it ran fine but a few days later kept idling too low when stopped, would almost die. It took about a week for the ECM to learn the correct idle. Maybe it just needs more time to learn?

It's been around 6 months since I did my plenum. I did the iac at the same time also. It ran great the first few weeks. Then it started doing it again. I can't seem to figure it out

I haven't had much success with aftermarket IAC motors....... my less than three month old IAC (duralast......) would let the engine stumble and die at idle when warm, more often than not. Yanked a used OEM unit from another TB I had laying around, problem gone.

If I still had my old truck I would try this. Didn't think to grab it before I junked it so I can't try this unless I find a junkyard

Also. When I did the plenum replacement the 2 very front bolts broke on the intake (not the plenum) when trying to get them out. I did all I could to get them out and ended up drilling them out but couldn't re tap them. So as of now I don't have those 2 bolts in and it's been like that for months so I'm not sure what that would do. But it did do the choking out before I even did the plenum
