Based on your reply's , the plenum would be the next thing to check out for sure .

My favorite way is to back the vehicle up on a bank . The slope of the plenum is to the rear , so , any pooling oil in the rear could be pushed forward and be more visible . Then just open the throttle body (engine off of course ) Look for oil .

Fouling of the rear sparkplugs 5,6,7,8 can also be found in a lot of cases .

Another thing that comes to mind , now that the cat is gone , was there a cheater/fouler installed for the rear 02 sensor ? Just wondering . Any check engine lights ? How old are the 02 sensors ?

 

It's throwing no codes which is strange. Didn't even throw codes when I had the issue with the trans 2 years ago. As to the sensor in the Cat, I'm not sure at all. I will have to talk to my mechanic and check.

 

The 02 sensor in question is the rear sensor . Here's a pic of mine with the cat removed . Upstream (farthest) is mounted normally in a bung , downstream(closest) has a cheater on it . It takes it away from the main flow reducing it's reading to somewhat normal . If that downstream sensor is not cheated , it can run like crap , and not flash a CEL .

 

Rear O2 sensor is just to monitor cat efficiency.... it can have a minor effect on mixture.... but, nothing compared to the front O2.

 

So he checked the plenum and everything was fine, the O2 sensor is fine. I have no idea where that leaves me. I'm not sure if I have to take it to a dealer and possibly have the computer flashed and reset or what. I'm at a loss

 

Unplug the front O2 sensor, and go for a drive. That will tell you if the sensor is 'fine' or not....

 

Thanks for this! I for some reason never thought about my trucks sensor/switch to be the reason i had no get up and from a stop. Tested your theory and thats the problem.

What sensor is it? So i can fix this.

 

Governor pressure switch and solenoid . It's the solenoid that causes the issue , most recommend you replace both when doing it . Use the HD Borg Warner part

 

I can find the solenoid but not pressure switch at auto parts store. Is there a technical name for it.

 

Actually its a sensor...... If you are going to replace them, get the heavy duty borg warner unit.... EBay seller ElectricalAdvantage has the set for about 100 bucks.
