Not sure the mileage. How do I know if its zero balance? The one from the 5.9 should go with that trans, regardless of which engine its bolted to, right?

Looking it up on Autozone.com. The flex plates and torque converters for the 2001 Ram 2500 5.9L (donor) and the 2001 ram 1500 5.2 (mine) have the same part numbers. My question is... using the 5.9 trans on the 5.2, do I use the TC from the 5.9 or the 5.2?

Use that one that comes with the trans. You are replacing your trans for a reason, you don't want all the crap that has accumulated in your old t/c to start circulating thru the new trans..... If you are REALLY paranoid, could just buy a new one? (for the 5.2)

The flex plates should be different numbers........ there are supposed to be balance weights on the 5.9 flexplate.

I come up with different part numbers when going by specific vehicle. FRA 527 for the 5.2, and FRA 486 for the 5.9

Everytime I search I get the same number. I don't get it. Rockauto gives different numbers but Autozone gives the same one. Guess I will need to call them in the AM.
