ok so here is the thing I have a 92 jeep yj that I swapped a 5.9l magnum into I've been driving the truck for about 2 months now and the only problem I can't solve is it keeps dropping spark and dieing. new ckp, cmp and coil. problem can happen seconds after start up or after operating temp has been reached. also no codes.

Whats missing when it quits? Might be as simple as a bad ground somewhere.

You may want to elaborate on "everything". What year motor?

Yes you need to tell us what year engine, what tranny, any mods you might have done and so on.

I have a 98 5.2 in my TJ right now but am swapping it out for a 96 5.9 that I'm stroking to 408. I'm running the auto tranny too.

Where in the NW are you?

I would trace the crank position sensor wiring back to the PCM and separate those wires from the loom from the sensor to the PCM .

Sounds to me like the signal from the CPS is being interfered with . rare , but , I've seen it before .

Problem solved it was the connector on the bottom of the coil. I wiggled it many times before and nothing happened and my buddy touched it and sure enough it cuts out and dies. Also sorry guys Ill update my profile with all the correct information. But if you want to know the motor, wiring harness, pcm and all bolt on engine accessories are from a 95 dodge ram 2500 4x4. I used a dodge Dakota bell housing to adapt to the stock ax15. I need to come up with a way to plum in my egr tube to the center dump headers im running. maybe someone has a fix for this on here.

You live down by my son. He went to Rochester High. Now lives in Centralia.

Glad you were able to get the problem figured out and now have it fixed. Always feels good when you find a issue like that.
