trany up grade
Has anyone put in a conversion kit in to make a three speed auto into a six speed. How complicated is it?
1995 Ram 1/2 ton 4X4

95's came with 4 speed auto. No, theses are two completely different transmissions.

Get an overdrive box. This gives you two drive ranges.... (or, an underdrive box, whichever you think you need.) It won't be automatic though.....

Don't the hemis have the same bellhousing pattern, so you could bolt up one of the new 8 speeds? It wouldn't be cheap or easy of course

You all ready have over drive! Did you read my last post? Last auto trans(727) with out over drive was made in the early 90's

Hemi is different bolt pattern. That would have been too easy.

I think i seen something for a 6-8 speed(aftermarket trans) but it was about a grand per speed.

I thought it bolts up other than 1 of the bolts? Maybe it's the Chevys I'm thinking of.
