Default ABS and Brake light

I've looked at other posts, but haven't found the exact answer I was looking for. These lights only come on when I fully press the brake. Starting the truck, no lights are on. I just changed the rear drum brakes and found one cable had wrapped around the self adjuster, and the other one was completely severed. So neither of those cables are currently installed. I just bought a new set of front brakes, and a rear wheel speed sensor, the sensor being what I Think the problem is. Truck info is as follows: 2001 Ram 1500 LWB, 4x4, Automatic, 3 inch suspension lift, 35 inch tires.

If neither of the rear brake cables are installed (if I read that correctly) then you have no rear brakes and all sorts of warning lights should be lit and you shoudl also not be driving the truck.

It isn't the main cables, they are connected and my rear brakes DO engage, otherwise I wouldn't drive it. The cables I mentioned are very thin, about 6 inches long, are INSIDE the brake drum, and if I am not mistaken, are there for the self adjuster to work. As it is, I can and was able to manually adjust them. It isn't my intention to be rude, but I thought I put all info needed in my original post. Any Any case, more detailed information is in closed in this reply. Any more I can and will add if asked, but I don't appreciate the assumption of my lack of common sense. Once again, I apologize if I come across as rude, I am just seeking some advice from people who have had and repaired a similar problem.

The self adjusters aren't the best in any event.

If the lite comes on when you step on the pedal, first thing to do, is make sure your rear brakes are adjusted up nice. Did you have your drums cut when you did the rears??

I didn't cut them with anything, I'm not sure what you really mean by that though. The drums are snug, but not tight. The previous owner did a lot of muddling, and I had to clean quite a bit of gunk out of them. The previous shoes were also incorrectly installed, which caused those adjuster cables to break anyway. I'm not sure why the speed sensor would throw those lights, but several people seem to have had that problem.

Speedometer working correctly? If so, then the sensor is fine.

Since the light only comes on when you step on the brakes..... gotta be something in the rears. (since you were just in there.)

By 'cut' the drums, I mean getting them turned, so they are round, and have a nice surface on the inside. When you adjust the rears, the shoes just just barely be touching the drums. (rear adjustment controls pedal height as well. How far the pedal goes before things start happening....)

Well, it shifts at a higher rpm than I think it should, and I have a bit of trouble getting to 70 mph, much less any higher.

As for the brake pedal, it feels like it should until halfway down, then it is kind of spongy, if that makes any sense.
