It's a 95. 5.9L ram 1500. The guy I bought it from said he recently replaced the transmission so I'm wondering if this is an old plug he just didn't feel like removing?

It might be for the trans temp sensor..... which you may, or may not have. If it has a light blue, and violet wire, that's what it is.

Well, it's got the blue and violet. So you were spot on. I'm going to assume that I do not have that being as I have searched everywhere within reach of the plug and there is nothing to be found. Thank you I appreciate all the help c:

If you had one, it would be a couple inches from the trans, off the front cooler line. On the older trucks, the sensor was external.

Well, it does have the light blue and purple wires, Gentleman i bought the truck from said he had recently replaced the trans, and i looked and couldnt find a harness it would connect to anywhere on or around the tranny. So by process of elimination i have come to the conclusion that this wire is not vital.

Yeah, it was part of the heavy duty, or plow, or towing option package. Not all trucks had it, but, most wiring harnesses had the provision for it.
