Angry No Start

So I parked my truck and about 10 seconds later I tried to restart it. I turned the key faster than normal and than what I think is the starter clicked for a millisecond than no lights no nothing. If I unhook the battery I can keep retrying. I hook the battery back up, put the key in it chimes like normal, all dash lights but once I try and engage the starter I just hear (I think) the starter engaging for a millisecond than no lights or anything. Where should I start looking?

Measure the battery voltage for starters. Check the connections.

That's either a dead battery, or a weak connection somewhere. If all power goes away when you turn the key (no lights, no nothin') Start check cables.

+1 on the battery -- these 2nd gens are so sensitive -- they must have full voltage to work AT ALL

All right I'll check it out after work off. Batteries only 2-3 years old, but I'll still check it. Luckily this happened in the driveway haha.

Clean your terminals! These do wonders.

One of my favorite tools.... when I wanted mine, I couldn't find it.... (moving thrice didn't help) so, I went and bought another one.... Now, I think I have four.... as I found them, after I bought one.

I checked the battery and it shows 12.5 and when I turn the key to start it just goes to like 12.3 for a split second. And than all the lights go out. Even all the interior lights. Maybe it's the ignition switch?

How did you check the battery?

"check the battery" by actually using a buddy's battery that has the same or more CCA/CA

I just hooked up my multimeter and watched the screen when I turned the key to start.
