It is cranking longer than it ever has and sometimes I have to pump the gas pedal to get it to start. Does it randomly, through out day.

Disconnect battery and hold cables together to reset? Also my gauge was always before the 200 mark, about 195*, then one day it just quit and read 0. Change the sender unit and now 250*....its just weird.

Just disconnect the battery, and turn on the headlights. That's safer......

Does it go to 250 immediately?....And pumping the pedal is just changing the amount of air flow through the throttle body. It's not like a carb unit where you pump more gas.
Maybe the temp sensor sending wrong information still...just thinking out loud.

Within 5 minutes it does. The coolant sensor reads the temp and the sender sends it to gauge correct? So maybe by odds my sensor is bad as well and is not giving the sender correct temp?

That's a reasonable supposition. You can test the sensor...... if you know what temp the engine actually is, check resistance across the sensor (to ground) and compare it to the table of given values. (I think it's in the service manual....) Easiest is when the engine is stone cold. Then, whatever outside air temp is, is gonna be REAL close to what engine temp is.

We are going to need a LOT more information than that....... and you need to post in the first gen Ram section. (assuming it's a full size truck.....)
