My name is Richard and I recently bought a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 with a V10. It seems to have been well taken care of but I have this recurring problem. It started a while ago and seems to happen after it gets hot, most of the time. What it does is the check engine light comes on and it starts running rough, like it is only running on 4 out of the 10 cylinders.
A little background. I have had a couple mechanics look at it and through some parts at it but they still have not figured it out. The OBD1 does not hold any codes for some reason. Anyway to date I have replaced plugs, wires, both coil packs, fuel pump/filter, crank shaft sensor. I'm now leaning towards the Camshaft position sensor and this is where I run into trouble. They don't make them anymore. I have tried all of the local parts stores and not so local, Ebay, amozon, rockauto and any other vintage auto place I can find. And everyone's the same, they might say they have it then when you go to checkout, Or soon after checking out I get a message that they are on back order. (EVERYWHERE). Does anyone now where I can get a camshaft position sensor or a work around. Thanks and sorry for the long post.
Are there any numbers on the part your trying to replace sometimes looking up the make and model doesn't do enough but if you have a part number and have a mechanic cross reference it to see what's out there that will work is another way to find the part

2nd gen truck parts manuals can be found for your year truck here - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html

You should be able to find that part number in the parts manual.
