Default Parts fell in. Where could they be?

Doing a H&S non adjustable RR install. By the firewall behind the master cylinder is hard for an old fat dude to access on a lifted truck.

First the pedastal for the rr fell into the void then in the ensuing chaos a pushrod followed off on a slightly different passage to an angle and more horizontal trajectory.

Where do you think those things might have gone?

Can't blame the kid on this one. All my fault.

I feel like barfing now.

oh wow...well whatever you dont start it!
time to get under there and start looking, you obviously would of found it if it hit the ground. i bet my money it fell on something on the way down...in that case its gonna take some looking with some flashlights. Theres a lot of open space for it to hit the ground, so its should narrow down the possibilities

Looks like we are going in then. Start by pulling the intake I guess. This sounds like a time suck.

Maybe I'll do the kegger mod afterall.

Kegger mod is rather time consuming, and not sure that in the end, it was worth the effort..... Of course, I went from a stock kegger, with a blown plenum, to a modified keg, with the plenum fixed..... It ran better..... but, better than simply stock? No idea.

M1 then maybe?

Might just pull it apart and put it back together as fast as possible.

To be clear, the parts rolled/fell off the head, at the back cylinder?
If that is the case, it wouldn't go up hill and towards the keg.
If it rolled off the side, my first guess would be between the starter and the block.
If it rolled off the back, it may be caught on the bell-housing web and be leaning against the back of the block.

Time to breakout your 5 jointed arm and feel around.

The parts are definitely somewhere inside the engine.

There is a hole leading somewhere into the head right between the intake and exhaust but inside toward intake. That's where the little pedestal fell. Maybe I can get one of those magnet spring things in there to get it.

The kid is already pulling pieces of the top end. We are pulling the intake at least and will go from there.

I would get back there and make sure it didn't just get wedged further down out of sight. I dropped a couple doing valve seals / RR install and they had no way of slipping past and dropping into the pan. I grabbed them with a set of pliers with some duct tape over the jaws

Me and the kid were too fat fingered and uncoordinated to pull it out last night. We spent a couple hours trying. We ought to have the kegger off here in a little while. Everything should be easier to see with that out of the way. It'll be the easiest RR install ever once that thing's out of the way.
