What year project is this? Why is there a PCM being thrown in the mix? You still need a different 727 to bolt the V10, and like I said the 47RH is nearly the same length... Is the 203 a 6-bolt mounting pattern? If so it'll bolt right up to the back of the 47RH no problem. If memory serves me right, the front shaft will extend enough and the back shaft only needs and inch or so taken out. That was from experience swapping a 727 out of a 90 cummins to a 47RH. If you don't want lockup or OD to function simply don't hook them up, the 3 speed front section of the trans is hydraulically controlled just like the 727 it's based off from and will function independent of any computer.

The PCM is expecting to see POWER on pin 54, and controls the circuit by ground it. You need to apply 12 volts to that pin, to make it think the TCC was actually there. Trouble is, it ALSO expects to see an RPM drop when it grounds that circuit, and when it doesn't, it will set a code.

What year is it? hmmm 1970 Duster body,1979 Trail Duster chassis and onto 1995 power source I'd like to think.
OK so 47RH case for a 4X which I don't have, to bolt to my range housing could be possible I guess. The less dollar method would be changing front internals and minor case fiddling may work for me.

The power to the solenoid comes from the AC relay's 86 terminal does the pcm 54 pull to ground and initiate the digital application for engage/disengage of the tcc no?
My hammer no calibrated for electron management. elaborate if you will? if this is not right, thanks.

Correct. The trans gets power from the Relay in the PDC. It's on whenever the engine is running. (and maybe even when just the ignition is on.... not sure on that.) PCM controls O/D, and TCC by grounding their circuits. Of course, when it does so, it expects to see about a 200 RPM drop on tcc engage, and a rather significant drop with O/D...... If it doesn't, it gets annoyed.

94 or 95 I think are your only choices for trans...... 47 or 48RH. Either should work. (not sure when the 48 first became available, it may only come as an RE..... in which case, it REALLY wouldn't work.... unless you went to OBDII....)

I have the 47rh with the "donor" V-10 it's in a 95 3500 2 WD and really hope to just do the front internals swap.
I have problems with "annoyed" electrons lol, if the tcc solenoid has voltage at it terminal 54 (or spouting to air) and it's waiting for a ground to make it work than it should do nothing, eh? I'm going to keep the od light and switch circuit intact just because the way it's all intermingled with each other, The plan is to use the 3500's dash board in the Duster and all of it's power, charging, start, fuel, etc. systems.

Yep, if the wire isn't hooked to anything, nothing will happen. (aside from the annoyed PCM) But, if you are using the 727, didn't they have locking converters at one point? It *should*...... You just won't have O/D. (since the 727 didn't. )

If you have the capability for TCC, I would most certainly use it..... better fuel economy. (yeah, I know. Kind of a joke the an 8 liter motor in any case..... but, 10 is better than 7, or 8.....)

This not a "mileage friendly" vehicle to begin with the "frisky" 360 get's like 7-8 now, the V-10 in the truck had 10.2 mpg consistently since I first acquired it in 1998 with 32k mi, 278k now and still strong!
As far as Mr. pcm being annoyed eh oh well as long is it doesn't do something dumb like a limp mode? I dunno if it would set a code for never working the od or tcc solenoid? It always sets a "cold too long" and "battery ground" codes which don't illuminate the light but show on a scan. Thanks for the info.

RH trans doesn't have a limp mode. It just doesn't care if the PCM is annoyed or not. Just gives it the finger, and shifts anyway.
