Yeah, that is just the vent hose for the front axle. It is supposed to be right there, just like that.

And just for future reference for you, that goofy looking thing the hose runs into is the CAD ( center axle disconnect). If your 4x4 decides to act up, most people will tell you to start there.

Good to know. Sometimes, when I shift from 4x4 to 2 wheel drive, the 4x4 light stays on, but it is disengaged (or at least it feels disengaged) until i hit hwy speeds then the light goes off.

Sometimes it helps if you turn slightly from side to side to get it to disengage. Might wanna look at the vacuum lines though, the steel lines that run along the frame like to corrode, and leak.
