Default NEW 47re wont shift

So, i got a "new" 47re in my Dodge ram 2500 -97 and it wont shift. I am pretty sure it's an electrical issue since the trans temp and OD off light is on. It can run on 1 gear and reverse. Feels like limp mode.

I have googled alot about this and everyone seem to say that the gov. pressure solenoid needs to be replaced. But since the tranny is new, i think i can rule that out.

I have checked what i believe is the 8 way connector, sprayed it with electrical spray and checked the wiring, and from what i can see, it's all fine.

Read something about the connectors (that 8 way one) can be different, i.e not compatible, but still fits with each other, but i have no idea about that one.

Anyone have any ideas??

Edit: When i first got the tranny in, it shifted fine. Drove just a few km before the transtemp and Od off light came on. I testdrove it yesterday, when i started the truck the light wasn't there, came about 2 minutes into driving. I shut the truck off, and turned the ignition on, and the trans temp light never went out, which it did the first time i started it. I tried the same thing today, turned the ignition on, and no trans temp light was on. Yesterday i put my hand on the pan and i could hold it there easily without getting burnt (when the lights was on)

How do you know it's "new"?

Because the dealer said so? They control check everything so it worked when it left their shop.

Can you take it back? Did you get any kind of warranty?

Yes i can take it back, got 1 year warranty, but i don't think that the fault is in the tranny itself. I can't drive the car anywhere, i'm afraid i'll burn it up or something. I called the dealer today (who bought this tranny from a dealer veeery far away because he couldn't fix my old tranny) and his best advise was "remove the batteries and see if it goes away..... + it took him almost 1 year and a half to fix this, so i'm not so thrilled to send it back.

Oh no!

According to the diag tree, if you have 1st/Reverse only, it's a fault in the governor circuit, a valve body malfunction, or front servo/kickdown band damaged/burned

Governor circuit, i.e. an electrical fault? Any idea what that might include? I will also check the band!

Is there an ODBll connector in the dodge? Have searched but not found.
