So you would have to replace the 8 pin harness.
I would take it back to the dealer and see if they will do anything about it.
Probably not after you explain how you dropped the pan to find out they are the wrong sensors.
I think some dealers send trans out to be rebuilt by trans shop.
Why was the trans replaced to begin with? chances are the check valve may be plugged and you could have toasted another trans because of that plugged check valve.

Dave
The trans was replaced because it would not shift and the housing had broken and i had to buy a "new" one because the dealer could not find parts for my old one.

I have cleaned the coolant lines and radiator by blowing air and cleaningfluid through it, so i know it's not plugged, but when time comes, i will definitly delete check valve

That's good to hear you flushed it.

Now i've talked with my dealer, and he still had my old tranny in his shop!

So he called the dealer who built my new one and they confirmed that it was the wrong sensors for my truck. Though they said it was a break in year 98-99, even though it is 99-00, but nevermind, still getting the right sensors etc now.

Anyway, my dealer is going to change the whole VB, but my question is, how much do you rebuild when you rebuild the VB? Is my old one going to be "worse" than the new one (i'm guessing so)?

Still have 1 year warranty but it feels better if it's rebuild/new rather than my old one.

Want to thank everyone for your help, probably would have been another year before my truck was ready if it weren't for you

Valve body pretty much just gets cleaned out in a rebuild. If anything is worn/broken, it gets replaced. The old valve body, if properly cleaned, inspected, and installed, won't be any worse that what you have in there now. I don't think they actually need to swap it though.... should be able to just swap in the correct sensors, and mounting bits from the old trans, to the new one.... I *think*.

Alright, good to know. Yes i agree, but i thought, if he wants to replace the whole thing, fine by me, as long as i get my truck running

Discovered some other things I need to fix before i can drive it so i'm not in a hurry. Maybe i'll start a new thread with all the other projects i have in the non tech section

Alright, so now he has changed the VB and i took it for a testdrive.. And if shifts No tranny temp or anything.

Only thing is, i couldn't really check if i had OD (but pretty sure i do), since the dreaded death wobble occurs if i drive faster than 60 km/h

But now it's fixed, so thank you for all your help

Awesome.

For death wobble, have a close look at the track bar on the front axle.

Yeah, going to look trough everything today and maybe extend the lower control arms. Never had this problem before i lifted it and put on bigger wheels.
If you google this problem, you can sit for 2 weeks and read about it, it's really a sea of links, ways to fix it and experts who says what you should do

I think next pickup will be a chevy or ford haha
