possible water pump?

i ordered a gates water pump, inlet tube, thermostat and the housing. felpro gaskets and a new fancy radiator cap. should be here end of this week or early next week.
obviously i need to keep an eye on coolant level. but is it ok to drive to work only with it like this till i get the parts? the gauge in the dash has never shown signs of overheating.

It can only get worse. If you lose liquid, you can't really depend on the temp gauge to inform you and the heat is not uniform. The areas around the pistons could get red hot and you wouldn't know. I wouldn't drive it.

I just left the serp belt on, put a big adjustable wrench on the fan nut, and then wacked it with a big hammer a couple time. Came loose on the third shot, than just threaded off by hand.
On another one I did, I used a strap wrench around the pulley. Worked fine.

Could use a 36mm Fan Clutch Wrench. That's that I use to hold the nut. Leave the belt on and whack it a few times. I've also stuck a screwdriver in the hole in the pulley to keep the pulley still. Probably won't do that again since it bent a pulley last time...
local napa store wanted 95 for the water pump alone. add in the other things i got and i would be looking at 150 maybe more. i got everything shipped for 61 dollars from rockauto.com
i understand the risks. im not driving the truck unless i absolutely have to(work)
as for the clutch fan, ive read about the adjustable and hammer method. im guessing it works just fine since most of you mentioned it.
how about removing the accessory bracket with the alternator and ac compressor still attatched? am i better off removing each unit from the bracket? id really like some opinions on that.
im gearing up to do the repair this weekend

I removed the alternator then used a bungee cord to hold the ac compressor out of the way then i removed the bracket. Just keep track of where all the bolts go, If you don't it can get confusing real fast.
parts were delayed because of the storm hurricane. should be in my possession tomorrow. fingers crossed. ill update this post tomorrow with how it went and any helpful information someone could use in the future.
job was done last week. went pretty smooth. i have some pictures below. i found out my iddler and tensioner pulleys are going bad, passenger side valve cover is leaking.
