Moog gripe-sway bar links made wrong
I already replaced my steering linkage on my 1999 RAM 2500 v10 4WD and was planning on making short work of the sway bar. Little did I know buying a premium part doesn't guaranty they care about making it right.
Ordered two k7280 links from Advanced Auto for $66 each. First I got one that was already opened and its threads were fouled. Then replacement link was missing the grommets. I finally got two good links and was able to try and install them. Putting the sway bar back together I find Moog made the taper on the ball joint end too big! The castle nut will not even tighten enough to get the cotter pin in. Worse than that the rubber boot is more than 1/2" away from the frame bracket the taper fits in so it will not hold grease. Is there another alternate supplier for premium steering links?
Is there a taper file to ream out the Frame bracket so I can use the links I have?
Thanks for your advise.

The third gen f-body parts and the dodge truck parts seem to be what we sell the most of.
I'd love too but discounts are frowned upon

Hey, ConnerMoro,
I've been looking at your end links as well as MaxxLinks but here's something that always bothers me: which size do I order?
I have a 1500 with a 3" lift. Basically, it sits like a stock 2500. It doesn't look lifted, just sits better with 285s. Now every company always lists all 1500s, 2500s, and 3500s as getting a "stock" part but if its leveled just 2", you'll need this other part. (I've seen this with all kinds of parts, not just yours.) Well, there's a big difference between a stock 1500 height and stock 3500. More than 2". I'm tempted to still buy the stock size but then are the HDs getting short changed in geometry or would I? A "leveled" 2500 is like a 4 or 5" lift on my truck. That would mean they need a much longer link than I.
Am I making any sense here? I guess it started with Dodge since they applied the exact same suspension parts to all three models except springs. So for a 1500 with 3" lift/stock 2500, which link should I order? Thanks.

I would recommend the one for a 2" leveling kit for your truck.
