I would think it would be easier to get the outer bearing replaced by taking the carrier out, it would be quite a challenge to pull it out with the pinon in place...

Yeah, idk. I'll just drive it till I have $500 extra bucks and then I'll get her fixed. Might have to replace the ring and pinion at that point but gotta do what you gotta do.
