Default 97 v/10 ram OD OFF and Trans temp light on and it won't start

I have a 97 v/10 automatic ram that won't start. The OD OFF and Trans temp lights are both on. It cranks but won't fire. I hear the fuel pump running when I open the gas filler cap. It's a plow truck so it sits more than its driven. This is happening after it's been sitting. When it starts it runs fine, but it won't start now. Any help would be great. Thanks

Fuel pressure is fine. It has something to do with those lights. When they aren't on, it fires right up.

Hhhmmm.. may want to have a look at the connectors at the PCM then. Make sure they are clean and tight.

You may have a failing PCM there......

I spent an hour and a half pulling connectors and checking them all from under the hood to the Trans connections. I was thinking it could be the transducer because it is also the temperature sensor on this year. I was hoping to get some input related to that before I drop the pan. The PCM could be it also. The truck only has 100,000 miles and has never been abused, but it sits 90% of its life.

Trans temp light being on is a symptom, not a cause..... that light coming on simply disables O/D, and that's about it. It won't prevent the engine from starting.

Sometimes the OD OFF light will go off, but the Trans temp light stays on and it will start. All of this occurs in a cold, non running/driving situation. The truck doesn't get hot and then the lights come on. The truck sits for weeks, I try to start it, and the lights are on and no fire.

Need to plug in a scanner, and see what the PCM thinks is going on when the temp lights, and such, come on. Is the PCM actually seeing a high temp reading?

May try a hard memory dump. Did you check for a spark at the coil packs? Sounds like an issue with the pcm.

I don't know how to do a memory dump. Ive unhooked the batteries w the key on for an hour 2 different times but no change. I am going to get a scanner this weekend and see what it says. I have no idea what the codes mean so I will post whatever comes up on the scanner and hopefully you guys can help me decipher what is going on.
