Thank Guys.

I followed your advice WN... Pulled the bracket/pump together, and dealt with it on the bench. MUCH easier than trying to work on it in the engine compartment. Broke one of the bolts though.... Unfortunately, the one that the grounds go to.... Didn't have time to deal with the broken bolt, so, just moved the grounds to a different bolt, and left three bolts for the bracket. I will deal with the broken bolt at some later date.

I wanted to ask this here instead of adding another steering pump thread. What pump did you go with and are you still happy with it now there's a few miles on it? I'm starting to have issues with mine and want to have everything ready to go before I start.

It was a "new" pump from advance auto. I think it was Cardone..... but, not 100% sure on that. I think it has slightly less assist at idle than what I was used to, but, all in all, it works just fine.

Mine moans quite a bit when I move the wheel from center when idling, with very little assist until the revs come up. I guess I'll put it on the 'to do' list for one of these weekends.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I drilled out the fitting on the pump of my 03 jeep wrangler. Can it be done on these? I did it to add a little oomph at low speeds.
