On 97 and older, the only difference is body-color bumpers, and some neat stickers on the bed. On 98 and up trucks, grill/bumper/headlights were different.

What about 96? I seen that the 98 had the dual bulb headlights and I thought that was a good idea but didn't know how to get it to work on mine

You can install the dual bulb housings, but, you have to modify the fenders behind the outboard bulbs, and then, of course, deal with the wiring.......

94 to 97 "Sport" trucks will use all the same parts as a non-sport, 'cept the grill...

Sweet, so with my 96 I don't have to worry about comparability
What brand lights do you recommend, have a black truck want to. Go black on black on black but don't want to risk visibility. But lights will come after fixing my plenum -.-

You can get stock blacked-out housings..... I don't know how well they perform. (I am pretty sure a couple members on here have 'em though.) If you go with something aftermarket, just make sure they are adjustable. A fair few of them are not.

Also, you can dramatically increase the performance of the stock lights by doing the headlight relay mod. Have the switch control relays only. Big difference.

Do you have a link to the mod? I keep finding the suv dot com links but the page is old and not active any more

There is a "how to" in the faq section here, to make your own, but, I think the wiring diagram pics aren't showing any more......

LMC truck makes a harness, and there was another thread that mentioned some other company that made much heavier duty harnesses..... More expensive, but, higher quality. Can recall the name of the place though.....
