Air in coolent system ?

Backflush the heater core. Pull both hoses, inlet where there is a coupler on the passenger side head, outlet at the steel tube that goes into the water pump. (put a cork in it to keep the coolant from flowing out. Pinch off the inlet hose, from the intake) Put both hose ends up as high as you can, and run water in the opposite direction of normal flow. When all the air is out, put the hoses back together, keeping as much of the coolant in there as you can.
Should help. Heater core is notorious for having a nice air bubble that is amazingly difficult to get out.
