Default Sound I can't isolate

Hey guys.

I have an sound that I can't track down that's driving me nuts. It is louder at around 75mph, goes away if I go faster yet if I let go of the pedal, it sounds like I'm almost compression braking with a manual trans. The sounds has an oscillating note to it. The tires are new, balanced checked twice, alignment checked twice, can find no noticeable slop in the tie rods or ball joints yet I have very little vibration attached to it. I've changed the u-joints on the front driveshaft thinking it came from there and noticed little the driveshaft was out that the noise was there yet to a lesser degree.

Pinion bearing? Hubs? Ideas

Did the noise change at all with the new tires?

Might be a bearing somewhere.... finding it is going to be the fun part.

Did you check the rear ones? Front shaft doesn't turn unless in 4WD.

The old tires were really wonky so there was noise. With the addition of the new tires, the sound is slightly different.

My front driveshaft always turns. The rear u-joints are next to be changed.

Iv had 3 rams with 5 speeds and the trannys have been noisy in every one. And that's actually normal for the manual tranny. Just make sure you run syncomesh in the transmission

I should have mentioned the trans is an automatic.

Open your differential and check the gears and bearings. See if there is any suspicious inside.
This sounds like a differential issue.
