Default slip yoke

I have a 97 ram 2wd mt the balancer on the driveshaft separated off the slip yoke and broke my transmission I just bought a new tranny for it but I can't find a slip yoke with the balancer. Do I need they balancer? If so where can I find one?

I suspect that's just a vibration dampener.... I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like that before on anything short of a commercial truck.....

Got one of those on my 98 manual 4x4... I think it causes a driveline clunk as you transition from power to engine braking (not dampen it as it is supposed to)... I have seen commentary elsewhere that says to delete it (can't remember where)... looks like yours is self deleting

The factory did away with it by 99 (I think).

Hmmmm... out of curiosity, I checked my 98 parts manual.
The slip yoke with a damper is only supposed to be on longer wheelbase models with the two piece driveshaft... it is not shown on any reg cab short box models (2wd or 4wd).
Might have to knock that sucker off next time I have the shaft out.
