Question Brake light always on

Hi,

So I bought a 00' 2500 for $600 and the brake light and ABS was constantly on. The truck has a ton of rust and the lines were leaking. Long story short I just had all the lines and master cylinder replaced. The lights were off and I parked the truck and engaged the parking brake. The light came on and I shut off the truck. This morning as I drive I release the brake and the light stays on. Any ideas on what it could be?

Side note:
Any good tutorials for removing front fenders?

E-brake switch.

Front fenders should be pretty easy. Remove bolts, remove fender liner, probably the headlight, etc.

Default Old problem

Thanks for the replies. I will check out what was mentioned. But now the brake light and ABS are constantly on, which is frustrating as everything was clear after the replacements

Oh, so you mean the brake indicator on the dash. Different animal all-together then.

ABS system gets annoyed when the service brake system ain't workin' quite right. (and for a host of other reasons too.....)

Is your speedometer behaving itself?

Do you have 2, or 4 wheel ABS?

2 wheel ABS and the speedometer is working just fine. Maybe one of the sensors needs to be cleaned/replaced? Everything works fine and with the replacements I'm pretty much stumped.

You only have one sensor, on the rear diff, and that also feeds the signal for the speedo. So, probably not a sensor.

Check the brake switch, and the e-brake switch.

It is the ABS unit under the Brake MC. I replace one from junk yard.

Default Front Fenders

Factory fenders are welded to the inner steel wheel well. Repops are usually just the outer, left up to the body guy to remove the inner from the old outer and weld it back together. Or they just buy both pieces new and weld them together. I bought used southern fenders, small amount of poly putty, and scuff/shoot paint.

Since the outer and inner are welded together, EVERYTHING connected to the inner needs to come off. Left side sux the worst.
