Default 97 rear axle!

Have a 97 1500 4wd. Rear end went out and been looking for a replacement! Wondering if anyone's knows what models may interchange with mine! 12 bolt and the shocks are offset! Thanks in advance!

Not big on mechanics so I'll try to explain the best I can! The plug on rear end somehow disappeared! So all the fluid in rear end was flung out! The front seal on rear end went out. Had no idea and one morning as I was going to work it just started making a grinding noise and felt like something was locked up! Took it in to shop to and the said it was going to cost $1500-$3000 to rebuild the rear end!

Pretty much any rear axle out of a 94-01 1500 will work. Just make sure it is the same gear ratio as yours.

Default How do I tell the gear ratio!

Was told there's a tag on rear end and I've looked everywhere on it and haven't found anything! This papers are all the vehicle info.

Right there. Bottom of 2nd picture. Axle ratio 3.5
So it is the standard 3.55

It's usually a metal tag under one of the bolts holding the diff cover on.
