#1. I can take a few pics later today sometime. say of the shredded front band if I find it (scrap metal bin), the carton and old GOV sensor/tranducer pair, and the shelled Main case, and under the truck of the Shiny New Black AT Pan I guess.

#2. Yes
#3. Abso-friggin-lutely

She ain't No street Beast, or lifted Toy, But I am extremely happy this nightmare is over and she is back up to being the reliable, loudmouth, I've known her to Be, actually better than before.
I suspect the Gov had been going for some time because Now You can tell when and where She cut to the next gear + You can make a distinction of whether or not the OD is On or OFF just by the differences in shift RPM unlike before the band blew apart.

Ooo, I'm a mod, does that mean I can be a d!ck?

Ease up there, Double Oh, the 'pics, or it didn't happen' thing is just a tease. Don't take it too personally, we are all friends here, so, handing out a ration of sht isn't all that unusual.

When you grenade a case, you don't fool around, do ya? Do you build transmission for a living? Or, just as a hobby?

My bad.
AS for the AT......Necessity!
I refuse to pay "Professionals" for shop cost on anything I can or could do myself.
$1800 For a NEW/Reman + $15-20phr labor? NOOOOO not happening!

All Done I have Maybe $600-$800 into this AT crap including replacing the Bombed one.
On that note to blow the case, I honestly suspect the snap ring failed that keeps the reverse drum and parts snugged to the sprag and the case back Failed.

If I have to monkey with an AT again it will be too soon and I just might get suicidal over it!!

LOLOL. Yep. I hear ya on that one, and wholeheartedly concur.

It's all black magic as far as I am concerned, spin one end, and it comes out there other faster, slower, or the other frigging way...... what happens in between? Black Magic. Yep. Capital letters.

Sprag failures are nothing new, I had one let go at stop light in a 727. It broke the case to the point it protruded out the top. No pics as this was in the 80's. The new case i had a bolt in sprag put in to prevent the same failure.

Not sure, I looked for them and they seem to be available for the A518 so i assume it would fit a 46RE.

There probably is, I never thought about it or saw one recommended, or suggested elsewhere in my research.
BTW the A518 IS a 46RE, but only by as much as the 5.9 Magnum is still true to the Original 1971 360-E58 Engine.
Same thing with a tweak and a quick relabeling.

Just a short list of currently pointless, information that someone my find interesting or useful later...............

1962–1994| A727 = (36RH/37RH) — 3-speed automatic
1960–2002| A904 = (30RH) — 3-speed automatic

1988–2004| A500 = (40RH/42RH/40RE/42RE/44RE) — 4-speed automatic
1992–2003| A518 = (46RH/46RE) — 4-speed automatic w/OD
1994–2003| A618 = (47RH/47RE) — 4-speed heavy-duty automatic
2003–2007| A818 = (48RE) — 4-speed heavy-duty automatic w/OD

2013–present Ram 3500/4500/5500 (6.7L diesel) Mercedes-Benz 5G-Tronic, (also known as Chrysler NAG1) — 5-speed
