5" leveling spacers
Has anyone used 5" steel leveling spacers? I need to know if they will work. I have a 3" block in the rear and a 2" spacer in the front and need 3 inches to level out the truck but I need a non expensive way to do it.
No. 5" spacers will not work. Your suspension geometry will be horrible, not to mention unsafe. There is no 'non expensive' way to get 5" of lift, without replace quite a few parts on the truck. 3" is the maximum height for spacers on the front springs, beyond that, and it's time for a suspension kit. I.E. Not Cheap.
I beg to differ, some. 5" spacers are perfectly fine and acceptable, however you WILL NEED control arms, drop track bar bracket, drop pitman arm, at minimum. 5" of spacer or coil does not change the fact that you have lifted the truck 5" over stock and now need all the same upgrades needed for any 5" lift.
Many years ago, I saw a Toyota truck that must have had a 10" shackle lift on it. Then I caught up it at a red light. It was shimmying like a Hula-Girl dashboard doll. I will never forget that, it was a hoot. I could never fathom a spacer lift that large. That is really not the way to go. Heck, you might as well just put a 5" cushion under your ***.
Saw the thread title. Did not believe it true.
