What's the deal with the inner spring for the accumulator piston.I have my valve body out and it has the bigger outer spring, but nothing inside.I have searched everywhere and it's 50/50 whether you need it or not!Trans experts...Help!
Nothing in that sticky, but I found these comments on a Jeep site..."The parts manager then tracked down their ACE trans tech and told him my story. The tech laughed and said the inner isn't used if the vehicle has the trailer tow package." and " I was told the inner spring allows for a softer shift. Not having it causes a quicker/firmer shift resulting in less clutch disk wear, especially when pulling a load. I hope this helps ease your mind. It sure did for me." My truck has the tow package from the factory.
