Default Lost Factory Tune

So first off, I bought SCT by Hemifever, long story short, I tuned my truck for 93, and the tuner broke and after a year of running 93 all the time I am tired of it and want to switch back but I couldn't due to a broken tuner.

I sucked it up, bought a new one (shouldn't have) and this one doesn't work as it wants the factory tune to download onto it, which the truck is still tuned for 93 and my factory tune is on the broken tuner.

Anybody know a way to get this thing back to factory tune? At this point I just want to stock and am done with this computer crap. I called the dealership and they said they could try... but was a 50/50 shot at completely losing the PCM which I don't want to risk... Anyone know a way of getting a factory tune on this thing?

Take it to the dealer and have them flash it. It'll be the death-flash, but, you can fix that in the parking lot when you pick it up.

They'll put the death flash on it? I was told its a 50/50 shot bringing it there when I called them, also $ 130.00.

And how could I fix it in the parking lot you mean? With my new tuner?

Exactly. You don't even have to start the engine once before you get rid of it.

You could email hemifever, and see if he has an alternative...... but, don't hold out a lot of hope for that.

Hmmm... I'm just worried about that 50% chance to lose my computer...

I tried that... didn't have good success either... neither did I with SCT and after that whole mess, I'll say this; I'm never buying a thing from either company.

how exactly did the tuner break and did you contact SCT to see if they could repair your existing unit and save the existing tunes?

other option is buying a new computer for the truck about $100 at advance auto
and will be less with coupon codes that are always available online.. then use the new tuner on that ECM

I heard a piece moving around inside of it and SCT doesn't support my tuner anymore so i figured what the hell, I tried to fix it, it worked for a day but I couldn't get the chip or whatever it is to stay on the contacts it was supposed to, crazy glued it and now I really can't get it off and still not making contact ( I know not my greatest idea). But it only doesn't work when connected to my truck and if I remember correctly it works when connected to a computer. They said they won't work on it since it is an X2 9550. SO dumb that I bought it and lost service on it about a year later, its been broken for a while.

I thought about that.. what would need to be replaced? Only that module on the passenger firewall? I don't know much about this area of my truck.

Yeah, PCM is on the passenger side firewall. That's all you would need to replace. Of course, it would have to be flashed to your vin number on your truck..... They may do that before shipping..... have to ask the parts store, and see what they have to say.

I still think having the dealer flash it back to stock is the best plan. Sure, it's a bit more money, maybe..... but, if the dealer screws it up, they give you a new MOPAR PCM..... I have a bit more confidence in their quality control..... Seen too many folks cycle thru multiple PCMs before they finally got one that actually worked right.

Where did you find it for only $100? I found a PCM but for about $450.00.

oh okay, hmm... I'm guessing its like a plug and play?

I want to have it flashed it seems alot easier and MOPAR PCM is like a performance one right? Or their idea of a performance PCM?
