Default 96 Dodge 1500 Sway Bar Upgrade

I am rebuilding my front end. I am putting the Moog steering rebuild kit in, also coils with new shocks. I would like to do the sway bar, but can not find any upgrades. I can only find the links.

Does anyone know where I can find the bar itself or a upgrade kit?

Why would you want a stiffer one on a 4x4? Do you get excess body roll in corners? (if you do, I would suggest you just not drive your truck like a sports car. )

If you haven't ordered anything yet, have a look at the HD steering upgrade thread. I think cost is about the same, if you are replaceing everything anyway, and it is a MUCH better steering system.

Thank you,

I have not ordered anything yet. I am just trying to put parts together. No excess body roll, but the end links are almost busted off. I thought if I am replacing everything minus well replace the bar and make it all look nice. I will look at the HD Steering upgrade thread as

I would just leave the stock sway bar in there then. If it really bothers you, you could pull it, replace the bushings and end links, and clean and paint it.

Polyurethane bushings are a bit less squishy than the stock fellers.

Yeah that is what I will do. Pull it out and sandblast at work and repaint it. No point having 1 rusty part up front.

Hey cant find the link on the HD Steering Upgrade. (Maybe not the right one atleast).

I did the HD upgrade and it was a huge improvement! You can find the list of parts I used on post #29 in the link below. But this was for a 98.

As for the sway bar, just replace the bushings and links. One of mine is shot and I just went on RockAuto.com to order two. There is a wholesaler closeout, $40 Moog part for $7 bucks.

Is yours a half ton? I'm looking at replacing all my steering parts and I was just gonna go back with factory stuff until I saw this.
