Question 1996 Ram 1500 door hinge question

Is this green arrow pointing to the bushing that gets pressed into the "detent-bar"?

I bought a door pin replacement kit from Amazon and it has the brass pin that runs through the detent bar, but does not come with any bushing for the detent bar.

Two pictures attached. The picture with the green arrow is from LMC and the other picture is the kit I bought off Amazon.

Thx all.

There are no kits for the detent roller. That kit does the upper and lower hinges. One kit per side. See my thread in the DIY section on detent roller fix.

Default Clarified.

My detent-roller itself (red) is actually in great shape. All my 'play' is in the green area.

I am trying to find out where that additional bushing in the LMC kit gets installed.

Does it get pressed into the detent bar (green area again) or perhaps where I have indicated in yellow?

Hope this makes things clearer.

I would expect it would go in the green area. Of course, you may need to drill that out for the bushing to fit properly. The package notes that on older trucks, "some modification required"...

That extra bushing and pin are for the lower hinge.

In your pic, in your first post it shows the upper and lower hinges of one door.

Yep, quite right. I seem to recall the rest of it is a separate kit.

I already replaced both the upper and lower hinge pins and bushings. One pin and two bushings per. I was leftover with the brass pin and an e-clip.

The Amazon kit needs an extra bushing - a bushing I think will press into the "detent-bar" and eliminate where my side-to-side-play is (green area).

These two replacement parts kits clearly differ but I went the Amazon route because my stock pins were tapered and therefore no drilling was needed. Only 1996 Rams received the tapered pins.

I just ordered the LMC kit, simply because I need that one extra bushing they show (which I suspect presses into the detent bar); will keep you all posted.
