No power across fuel or asd relay terminals
Hi there, I have a 98 ram 2500 4x4 pickup with the 360ci magnum engine. I recently had the engine rebuilt but upon first crank over my fuel pump is not turning on. I confirmed by attempting to bleed the fuel rails multiple times with nothing to show for it. I checked both the fuel and asd relays and they are ok. I checked voltage at pin 30 on the ECM panel and got a reading of 12v with the ignition off which i believe to be correct. I did the same for pin 86 with the ignition on and got no reading. I did this test on both the fuel and asd locations in the ECM panel. Im leaning towards a faulty wire somewhere, any ideas on this?
Thank you for the welcome! Yes that is correct. I do not see a fuse related to the fuel system however I did check the fuses in the PDC as well as the ones in the dash just to make sure. All were good.
I don't *think* there is a fusible link for that..... but..... If you don't already have one, you can get a service manual for your truck from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8w. See if you are getting the main power feed TO the relays, then see if the PCM is actually attempting to control them.

OK, this is from the '98 FSM:
ASD relay pin 86=12 volts from ignition switch START-RUN thru FUSE 9 (make sure there's voltage on these fuses)
" pin 30=12 volts from FUSE 6
" pin 85=CONTROL(ground) from PCM Connector 3 pin 3
" pin 87=12 volts out to ignition coil and fuel injectors
FUEL PUMP relay pin 86=12 volts same as ASD relay
" pin 30=12 volts from FUSE 3
" pin 85=CONTROL(ground) from PCM Connector 3 pin 19
" pin 87=12 volts out to FUEL PUMP pin 4

Hey there guys. Sorry, I've been busy with work. I ended up taking it in and it turned out to be a faulty crank positioning sensor. Thanks for the help!
