Engine code p1495 aka LDP Solenoid CKT
I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 5.2 4x4. I'm getting that code and can't seem to find the leak detection pump. Looks as if it were removed to tell you the truth. If I were removed would it throw a code? I've ha the truck for months and this is the first time I'm seeing the code. Just recently got a new ecm for the truck so I don't think it's the issue.
I think the ldp is supposed to be there.
I think the hose is the front axle vent hose. If it goes down to the cad on the front axle, that's what it is, and it is correct.
Yeah, it sure does look like its missing..... I think. (my truck didn't come with one from the factory.)
Ok. Looking in the 98 service manual, page 25-16, it has a nice pic of where everything should be, and you are missing most of it.
If you don't have the 98 manual yet, grab one from here.

The code never popped up on the old ecm though. I find that strange. Maybe the old ecm didnt have the correct software on it. Makes me wonder. How could I tell if I got the right ecm? Federal/California regulations. Im told the ecm is California regulated. I plugged it up to the truck, truck starts up and idles fine. I put it in gear and it dies. I also has a bad o2 sensor. I'm pretty sure that could cause it to die. But I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure. I'm trying to avoid going to a mechanic. I don't have mechanic money. Haha but I have fix it myself money and some automotive experience. Please give me some feed back on each question I just asked. Thanks to those who'll help. Lord knows I can use a little guidence.
The old ecm may have a custom tune on it, eliminating the LDP, but, one would think the guy you bought it from would mention that...... Not sure it's legal for a dealer to sell one with emissions equipment missing. That probably varies state to state.
Check the part number, and then just do a search on it. Should tell you more than you ever wanted to know.
If you think the O2 sensor may be the problem, unplug it. See if the symptoms change.
