V10 flywheel the same as diesel?
Me and my dad are replacing the clutch in his truck.
97 2500 V10 ~350000miles
We went look al around town for a new fly wheel and napa had a full kit but no information on what engine it fits, all their computer says is that it fits 2500 and 3500 models. So we decided to order it.
It came in today and we opened it, it came with an accesorie bag that says starter adapter for CumminsTD for 13" flywheel upgade.
will this 13 in flywheel fit the v10

How many teeth on the ring gear? Just curious if a viper flywheel would work. I think viper flywheels have 152 teeth, if I'm remembering what I looked at earlier correctly.

Is there a spec for minimum thickness??
I would expect, that depending on how much material was removed each time.... (were the rivets on the clutch plate digging into the flywheel surface?) it's is likely just fine to clean up, and re-use...... May not get a choice in the matter.....
That said, a fair few places list it, some say discontinued. Trick might be to give them a call, and see if anyone actually has one available. Right around 325 seems to be the going rate though.

Is the 8.0 internal balance? If it is, and is 143 teeth on the ring gear it might be the same as what I just bought for my 408, ASSuming the v10 has the same crank bolt pattern.
Here is a link to the one I bought from amazon. Don't know if it's right for you, but I hope it helps.

Good idea. The one I linked is neautrally balanced. It would be a good candidate for getting balanced to your 8.0.
I know there is a pattern out for the 5.9 that is used to balance the flywheel. It literally just sits on the flywheel and shows the tech where to drill and how deep. Maybe there is something like that for yours also.
