Default catalytic converter compatibility

Would a cat from a 99 1500 5.2L work correctly on a 97 2500HD 5.9L?

If it's true heavy duty it came with duel cats.

Thats whats different bout my truck, got the 8,800 GVW but i dont have dual cats

You would be amazed at the number of parts that will interchange between the 5.2, and the 5.9.
