Default Steering strangeness

So as of Friday my truck has all new ball joints, ujoints, steering linkage and hub assemblies. Took a couple days but it's nice knowing every piece up front is brand new

It is lifted with 5" skyjacker springs in the front

I went with the "HD" steering setup I found somewhere else on this forum, all Moog parts. I also utilized a rough country drop pitman arm I had.

My issue now is when I'm sitting still and turn the wheel to the right it pushes the front end of the truck up and when I turn the wheel to the left it pulls the front end down.

So when I'm driving on the highway and hit a bump or a dip it pushes my steering wheel to the left when the suspension compresses and then back to the right when it goes back down

I might have the directions backwards but you get the idea.

Any ideas what that's about?

Did you do anything about the stock track bar?

It's got a Fabtech double adjustable track bar

Is the track bar parallel to the drag link? Do they far ends travel the same arc?

I'll have to double check when I get off work but after I finished the install I think they were very close to parallel but not quite *perfectly* parallel

Sounds like the track bar is loose or missing, in which case, the truck would never drive down the highway. Make sure it is tight: all ends and adjusters.

Are the new tie rods positioned correctly? The ball joints all have to be pointed a certain way for the linkage to cycle properly. It is different than the stock Y setup.

I took a video of how everything sits in the front end.
Everything is tight. I'm thinking the drop pitman arm wasn't needed despite being lifted 5", as you can see the drag link and track bar aren't exactly parallel.

Thoughts?

Think I would be REAL tempted to upgrade to the third-gen style track bar. It has bushings at both ends, moves the frame end in closer in line with the steering box, and will probably line up better with the drag link. Its just a much better design.

Now, if you could do a video, of what the steering is doing when someone turns the wheel lock to lock......

Man that's a bummer, that $185 track bar has like 800 miles on it

I'll try and get another one up with a wheel monkey as soon as I can

Well, you're missing the sway bar, end links, and stabilizer. I would start there.

All the TREs look good.
