Default I'd like to get rid of the spacer blocks on my rear axle.

They suck. It seems like anytime there is any wheel spin at all the trucks starts hopping.

I found some BDS 4.5" lift leaf springs I could buy. I believe that would leave me the option of one add a leaf which they also sell for 2nd gen 3/4 ton.

It sits fairly level now and if I could get it somewhere close to what it is now but without blocks that'd be killer.

The blocks measure 5.5" tall. Does that mean I have a 5.5" lift in back? I don't think there are any extra leafs on there what do you think?

Nope. Those blocks are stock. Came from the factory with 'em. I didn't think it was a very bright idea either.....

Might consider going with a spring with just a bit less lift, and doing a shackle flip as well.

Where do you think the BDS 4.5" lift leaf spring packs plus add a leaf would put me if I took those blocks out of there and didn't do a shackle flip? It would be close to where I'm at now wouldn't it?

My blocks must be bigger than the stock blocks since my truck seems lifted and there isn't a body lift I can see. The blocks on my truck measure 5.5" tall.

That's standard. (5.5 inches) How much lift does the aal add? If it gives you an inch or more, then you would be pretty much right where you wanted to be.

It doesn't say on the website how much the aal adds. I'm sure a call to them would clear it up. I'd guess 1-1.5".

Does it look like I have an aal in the spring pack I showed in the pic?

AAL, or, perhaps an overload spring. Mine doesn't have those two brackets showing in the pic.

Those brackets are for my air bags.

Are there driving performance advantages to having a less curved, lower lift spring along with with a shackle flip as compared with the higher lift springs with more curve?

I'd guess a typical shackle flip gives around 2.5". Do you know of anyone doing around a 3" lift leaf spring pack for our year 3/4 ton?

Ah, then your springs look just like mine.

I would think...... that springs with less arch to them would give the rear suspension more lateral rigidity.... But, that's just me. Probably a question best answered by folks that do that sort of thing on a daily basis.

There is a thread around here somewhere that a member did the shackle flip.... been a month or three ago... Might want to dig that one up, and see what you think.

I couldn't really tell how much the DIY4X shackle flips lift the truck.

The DodgeOffroad ones are sweet looking. According to the FAQ stock blocks are 4.5" and their kit raises the rear 1.25" over stock but can adjust up or down 1/4" . That would put me right where I started if mine really are 1" taller than stock and if I adjust down the full 1/4". I'm starting to think those might be a good way for me to go.
