The output for the front shaft shouldn't spin freely if in 4HI or 4LO.

Here's a link for the Tcase saver. You need to take your output housing off and check the snap ring.

I am curious still, though, if your t-case was swapped at some point. Put your t-case in neutral, not the trans. Of course, you'll know because it won't go anywhere. Does "N" position match up with actual neutral? In some years, the t-case shift pattern was a direct opposite of the other years.

The other thought is that your CAD (center axle disconnect) is somehow still engaged. You could pull of the vacuum lines to it, to see if you hear some vacuum release (probably not) and/or pull off the plate and physically check the position of it. The CAD is on the passenger side of the front axle, back side, four bolts.

Thinking about this, for me, it's either the above or your u-joint for the passenger side front tire/axle. That could be binding.

I did remove the vacuum lines for the CAD in hopes that it would prevent the issue but it did not help. If this were tlan issue with the front end, with the front drive shaft not installed the engine should not stall. Correct?

I will check to see if the neutral lines up when I get home.

Correct. Did I miss that in earlier post, that you engine stalls too?

Yes. When I removed the front drive shaft, I drove it around in 4 low at very low speeds and when it starts jumping the engine will stall. It will only do it at low speeds when it is in 4 low. Otherwise it will do it between 35 and 55 mph
