If that's what's happening, I think I'd find a used tcase, put the tcase saver on it, and install it. I bought one for 125. Think of the forces applied when that locked up and tore the wheel off 3 times!

I'll look and see if the retainer is bad and if it is I will make a run to the junkyard to grab another t case.

sounds like you have a really weak spot going on with your wheel studs and wheel if you're able to do this three times and something in the driveline hasn't completely blown up. are you sure the studs/lugs are the right combo on the wheel you have? might not be tightening up right and weakening the studs. are you torqueing the lugs? if your hammering them on with a gun it might make them weak too.

I pulled the rear driveshaft and the retainer seems to be in tact and in place. That was disappointing lol. What else could possibly be the next step?

Have you driven it much with the front shaft off?

try taking the 4x4 actuator out of the front end and drive it. wrap tape around the opening once its out.

are you sure the engine isn't dying first?

I will check that in the morning. I am sure. the engine is strained and then stalls. But some times the the truck will recover and continue driving if I put it in neutral fast enough. Low oil pressure is on when it happens.

I may have missed it but has the front differential cover been taken off to inspect the gears, has the cad unit been opened up to check for broken bits and has the transfer case been drained to see if any pieces flow out with the fluid?
Another thing to think about is since they've been replaced a couple times, if the new lug nuts aren't deep enough or open on the end then they won't be able to torque the wheel down and that could add to the problem.

An easy check for something broken in the front axle would be to crank it, put it in 4hi then kill the motor and lift the front end and spin one wheel to listen for noises that'll make you cringe. This is assuming that the front drive shaft is still off.

Post a picture of the truck, from the front at bumper level. Back up where we can see the tire touch the ground.
