LED Tail Lights Not Blinking
Well here is the final results of my LED Tail Light install.
I took my gas filler door into a local body shop, had them match the paint and bought a quart of it. Its a good quality paint by PPG, after mix the shop charged me $200 for the quart. It uses a 1:1 ratio for reducer so I really have 2 quarts after its mixed. I could do my whole truck with that... Its just a pearl white base.
Anyways, the LED tail lights I ordered were from LMC Truck. They were the black with clear lenses. The plastic surrounding the lense was also a bare black plastic. I scuffed them down , primed them(prob didn't need to), wet sanded the primer after 3 coats, cleaned and shot the color with my wagner electric sprayer I bought last year, did 2 coats, then I laid down 3 coats of rattle can clear. Came out so friggin nice I couldn't believe my eyes. Barely had any orange peel. I went ahead and used a light polish on them to remove some of the orange peel and my next step is to lay down a nice coat of wax and I will be done.
And yeah, you heard me right, i used a wagner flexio 590. I set it to its lowest power setting and volume was set to a medium spray. It shot the paint good enough for these tail lights I may try using it on my front bumper. It has several years of road nicks it could use a redo. primer and clear coat were just rattle can.
The new relay #552 is working great. These babies are night and day compared to the smoke lenses that were on the truck when I bought it. Now people maybe won't rear end me in the daytime because they can now SEE my brake lights
Enough of that, here are the pics:
Before with the old smoked lenses.

right side lamp is a new one i was mocking up.

And here are the new lights, paint matched and installed

I plan on getting some night pics of them working, maybe a video. When I do I will post that too.
Thanks again for the help with the relay issue guys!

Lol, it's only a small amount of time before mine starts reversing that on myself.
I know man, sucks, but they are pretty bright with the reflectors and I plan on getting one of the tail gate LED bars. They have some pretty cool ones out there these days.

Get an electronic flasher and ditch the resistors. If you would have gotten the flasher in the first place you wouldn't have had the problem. The people who sell this stuff should explain things to people.
PSA! If you install led turn signal lights get an electronic flasher! Even with the resistor sometime the old amp flow style flashers won't work right. Also If you use resistors you are wasting power. Why do it?
