It has a coil pack for each cylinder. Swapping them around to see if it transfers to another cylinder.

Not up for a little light-hearted funning? A shame...

One thing bad about writing, you don't hear the way it is said. Sorry about that.
I tore it down last year, rebuilt the transfercase, tore the engine down to a semi long block, replaced hard and soft parts, and rebuilt the transmission.

Yeah, I was hoping that the "off the continent" remark would be snarky enough to let you know. Sorry.

The X5 is fixed, replaced all injectors instead of just the one. Runs great. Oh wait this is a Dodge truck forum. Both are V8's though?

I finally got the time to take the transmission down now. Got it up on 4, 6 ton jack stands. Looking around the bottom of the truck I see where Pep Girls took the transmission out. I also see a big engine oil leak running down the back of the motor. I'm thinking valve cover gasket. Well out to have some fun.

Attachment didn't work.

Also be sure and check the gasket at the rear of the intake. Those can leak pretty good too.

I'll check that out.

Getting the cross member off was time consuming. It did't want to come out even with the weight of the trans/xfer case. Pry bars work.

Jack up the rear of the trans, knock the crossmember UP, and it comes out easy. Put it in by lifting the trans as high as you can, and pulling it DOWN into place.
