The transmission is up on the counter with the overdrive unit removed. There is a lot of friction material throughout the OD unit and smells burnt. If it's here it will be throughout the whole transmission.




It needs another housing /case due to the cast part, for the nose of the starter, broke.

Really burnt steels, bushing material on shaft and more friction material in the OD unit. Splines filled with friction materials.

The clutches don't look that bad in the pics...... Was the trans slipping?

Slipped in gear when it warmed up. It would go about 10' then start slipping. I'm surprised the frictions look kinda good. Those steels though... Now into the transmission case/housing. Case needs replaced because the starter cast is broken.

At this point a Monster transmission/torque converter looks good.
