Default No overdrive switch anywhere?

Hey all. I'm assuming the od switch should be on the gear shift selector (98 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 auto ).
It's not. It's not anywhere. I have had an overdrive light come in and off on its own on the dash, yet when I start up and all lights do a check on the dash I get no od off light. I also have no freaking switch for overdrive on or off anywhere.
I'm also pulling a p0751 overdrive switch low code that I got when I was getting an intermittent check engine light that was due to o2 bank 1 sensor 1.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Does anyone else have a tuck of similar gen without a overdrive switch?
Thanks ahead

It *should* be on the end of the gear shift..... Previously, it was an obvious button on the dash, but, the 98 dash is dramatically different. No place for it that I can see. Mine is an early 98, and the button is indeed on the end of the gear shift.

Heavy on the should! Thanks for the reply. Anyone else chime in here with any info about this? Very confusing to have seen an overdrive off light come on by itself and then off again yet I have no overdrive switch anywhere. Is there such a thing as automatic overdrive that comes on when it feel necessary and off when not?
I must have some form of overdrive if I am pulling codes pertaining g to overdrive. Any help appreciated.
Thank you.

What's the date of manufacture of your truck?

My 98 1500 was made in July of 97, so it is an early production. The OD button is on the end of the gear select. Mine quit shifting out of OD a couple years ago and I just haven't done anything with it because I rarely tow anymore. Your switch is on your gear selector. It isn't obvious if the OD OFF print is worn off.

There's nothing switch or button like at all.

I am going throw this out. I wonder if the previous owner just twisted the wires together for the OD button and put a new **** on the shifter??? Just a thought.
