Torque converter problems? 46re
The truck is running great, shifts feel good, power is there but today I noticed a fast ticking noise coming from front of the transmission after the truck is warmed up. The noise is louder while in park or neutral but I can hear it in drive and reverse but barely at all and only when I hang out the door with my foot on the brake(ebrake cable is snapped) and listen closely . The noise doesn't seem to be causing any problems at the moment. Any thoughts?
When my dodge was laid up I was driving the company dump truck, a 99 gmc 6.5 diesel 5spd manual. I never had a problem with it other than having to double clutch 3rd gear but The first day another guy drove it I think he killed the transmission. I got in yesterday and the clutch felt normal but 1st and 2nd weren't there , the shifter just felt like it was in neutral but 3,4,5 and r felt normal. Could there be a problem with the shifter or is it more likely the transmission is shot?

That's what I figured, that thing has been pulling way more weight than it was meant to for a really long time. I took it easy when I was driving it but can't speak for everyone else . Guess we should be happy it lasted as long as it did
So the ram is running pretty good, the ticking noise seems to have sorted itself out somehow. I have noticed it seems a bit slow getting back down to first gear . When I have to stop at a stop sign or to turn left sometimes I have to wait a second or 2 and give it gas slowly for it to downshift back to 1st . If I just stop and try to take off right away it feels like it's still in a higher gear then it will downshift to first pretty hard before it takes off. Any thoughts? Could readjusting the bands help. I Already made sure the fluid was topped off properly
